$2.54

I found this onion at IGA last week. It is by far the biggest onion I have ever seen outside of an onion growing competition.
Actually, I haven't seen an onion growing competition either.
I definately think it is worth posting about.
And worth 4 pictures.
Ha ha.
Special thanks to my onion model Don Amero.

I could barely hold onto it!

Don has a HUGE head. Really.
Unusually big.

See my straining wrist muscles?

That's my hand fully spread out.

Thanks for reading this entire onion post.

That Was Awesome.

Yesterday while I was walking home from the bus stop, I noticed that someone had spray painted some words on the ground on L'esplanade Riel. As I passed by I looked back to read it. It says, "hurry up! ". That made me laugh out loud on the bridge. I don't really care one way or another about graffitti (unless it's over a mural), but now everytime I walk past the hurry up! I smile. At least they had a sense of humour. I'm gonna try to post a picture of it later.

Just Call This Posts-Of-Don Week.

Well, I have to say a big thank you to all of you who voted for my O.A.O. these past couple of weeks at the aboriginal peoples choice awards site. He is the top manitoba nominee! CBC's margo watt said congrats to him yesterday on air and today in the paper there is a little blurb about him. I have to say, I don't care all that much, (except that it is a nice perk after he just quit his dayjob to pursue music Full Time--nail biting begins) but it makes him SO happy and that is what makes me happy. Alright, you can all go find your puke buckets now.
But after you do, do him a favour: go to thier website & vote for him to WIN an award: www.aboriginalpeopleschice.com You can vote until October 15. Everyone in your house can vote. And you totally do not have to be aboriginal!
There. My plug of the year for Don Amero-Singer Songwriter is done.

I guess my post yesterday should have gone out to Don.
About how wonderful, kind, supportive, driven and faithful he is...
Oh well.
I'm sure he enjoyed his Manly meal Corrie & I made him more.
But just for the record:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON!

You're The Only Fish in My Sea.

*Manly meal consists of: ribeye steak, saucy baby potatoes, bread, cheese, wine and a selection of beers from around the world while we watch a new football show and have chocolate caramel whipped cheesecake for dessert.

Name Change.

Well, after 3 years I finally changed the last account over to my 'married' name. It was mostly out of laziness that I didn't change it over sooner, I am not like super attached to my maiden name or anything. Don't get me wrong. I still love it. I love the difficulty of it. I will always have a definate connection with it. But I won't obsess or regret.
My 'new' name suits me just fine.
Sometimes I just like to carry on tradition.
Am I sad to not really be able to track my new name back in history?

A little.
But I still there is something about saying to someone "This is how much I am commiting to you," (And I don't want to hear any comments about it going the other way, etc.) "I am willing to join you and begin something new."
I like to think of it as a present for them, no matter how old fashioned that seems.

Although, would I still feel this way if it was a name I didn't like? ;)
