RUSHRUSHRUSH...rest

Holy smokes...what a crazy few days!

Don and Kim played two great shows this week.

One at the forks for Aboriginal Day Live, filmed by APTN. (Which we are still trying to find a copy of...)
Here they are with MJ.

Then one at the Walker Theatre with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. What a great shot. Thanks internet guy.

While I don't think this one was recorded at all (due to a bit of mix ups..), my fabulous brother recorded one song with his...phone? ipod? gadgety thingy? Either way, its not the best video but the sound is pretty good and we're just so happy to havesomething to remember it by over nothing. Check it out below (or here). And thanks again Kurt!

Now we finally head off to a glorious week of....nothing! Some camping in the Qu'Appelle Valley followed up by a canoe trip to my favorite lakes with my favourite friends...it's looking good. Then we return home for one day before making the drive out to the Vancouver Island music fest. I love summer! See you all in a few weeks!

They're heeeerrrrre...

It seems the mosquitos have finally
found their way into my backyard.

I know, I KNOW, I live in Winnipeg, what do I expect?

But it's just been sooooo nice without them.

Sigh.
Welcome back mosquitos, the battle resumes.

10 down, only 75, 456, 234 left to go.

I mean, I know some people are desperate...

but let's all remember not to drink and dial...especially 911.
No wonder she didn't answer her phone.

"I Just Want My Mom!"

Things just seemed impossible.

Then, kinda out of nowhere, mom shows up.
Suddenly you feel okay to cry, talk things out, listen, pray.
Or just sit there and be loved.

And a few hours later you feel able to face your problems again, as an adult.
You feel okay to go back out into the world.
You don't feel so lost, lonely, confused or stupid.

It seems incredible to me that God could infuse that 'mom need' into our very souls.
What do people without mothers do?

I'm so grateful for mine.
