13 Things That Made Me Smile --on our mini-holiday
(Yes, I know it's Friday, I'm just a little late!)

1.Watching Don play my favourite song at his show on our way out to the cabin.

2.Finally beginning my new book Inkspell-and loving it immediately.

3.Shovelling ourselves a path to the car to the cabin through the unexpected 2 1/2 feet of snow!

4.Smashing air bubbles in the ice like we were kids on a walk around deserted grand beach.

5.Watching a woodpecker find his lunch only 10 feet above us.

6.Don kicking my a#$ in Monopoly.

7.Winning all three games of Blokus that we played.

8.Feeling like Legolas walking of top of three feet of snow that just the day before was too soft to walk on!

9.Watching the winter sun set through the trees and across the snow.

10.Washing the windows inside the cabin while Don practiced his set list...almost like being serenaded...almost!

11.Making oatmeal cookies and overheating the cabin.

12.Counting the 15 other people who were out of the city enjoying cottage life on a Tuesday.

13.The beautiful walk full of silence on a perfect windless day across the icy lake. Wonderful.
